Mathew, what wonderful insight to discover both books are one!

I wish my book was already written too. And that I wasn’t trying to write a book while my husband is ill.

Maybe there are book fairies who will appear at night and by first dawn, their writing of your book is complete. That is my hope for you.

But until the book fairies show up, I wonder if there is a way to write your book with a bit less effort. And more support.

Once you discover how to do that, please clue me in as well.

Sending a hug.

So much to love about this. I've been writing a book for nigh on ten years, I'm editing the third (or is it the tenth?) draft, and so resonate with the wish to have it done and the challenge of negotiating the turgid unreal stage between here and there.

I love describing emergence not as a feature of how the natural world operates but as the limitation of our attention.

On AI, have you read the recent speculation The 2028 Global Intelligence Crisis by Citrini and Alap Shah? Despite the caveat that it was an imagined scenario, it led to a stock market plunge in that sector. It's a fascinating (if at times incomprehensible) read. Good luck with the new iteration of the book! 💜

Yes, the Citrini/Shap scenario is the antithesis in some ways of Making Way - except that Making Way does not, in fact… but you’ll have to wait until I’ve actually written what it doesn’t…

It is fascinating to read the night, day and historical background of your writerly thought and writing process.

I’m glad you find it so, Terje. Fascinates me too; sometimes I can sit and look at it all day. 😇
