Thanks Matthew, interesting and helpful and well written. I was thinking whilst playing ball with our dogs this week that a ball goes a long way on a smooth, unyielding, surface but that same ball thrown with the same force comes dramatically to a halt when thrown onto a field of grass, even though each blade is weak and pliable together they can stop a speeding ball. Maybe by speaking up, standing up we can, together, standing close, slow and stop the.patriarchal system - I live in hope (and metaphor!)

A very fitting finish to this wonderful series of essays Matthew. Now to work out how we get more men to read it.

Now, Now, Now, Now, Now.

The time is Now.

Beautifully observed.

Here's to murmurations that quietly change the world.

Love all of this, Matthew. Particularly your to do list and particularly the bit about talking to another man who isn’t necessarily going to agree with you. Also, let’s do Thelma and Louise for next month’s (?) White Ink film club. It’s fun watching together!
