Thanks Matthew, interesting and helpful and well written. I was thinking whilst playing ball with our dogs this week that a ball goes a long way on a smooth, unyielding, surface but that same ball thrown with the same force comes dramatically to a halt when thrown onto a field of grass, even though each blade is weak and pliable together they can stop a speeding ball. Maybe by speaking up, standing up we can, together, standing close, slow and stop the.patriarchal system - I live in hope (and metaphor!)
